There are easy ways to add more health and nutrition to your diet; here are some of them.
- Add a Greens Powder in the morning. Greens: Spirulina, Chlorella, Alfalfa, or a mixed Greens powder is a great way to improve your energy for the day, better your immune system, improve your skin health and more. Make sure to take it earlier in the day as it gives energy; start slow, take less at first, as it detoxes your body and go easy, (talk to your doctor) if you are on blood thinners.
- Add Flax Meal to your diet; keep it in your fridge or freezer, add 2 tablespoons to your yogurt, applesauce, oatmeal, or wherever else you choose to add it. The flax must be ground and kept cool, to get the Omega 3's.
- Use more Spices and Herbs. Spices and Herbs are like little powerhouses of Nutrition, start using parsley, basil, thyme, cilantro, turmeric, garlic, mint, cinnamon, nutmeg, paprika, cumin, ginger, etc.
- Add chia seeds to your diet, always make sure the chia seeds are soaked in something for a few minutes before consuming, like yogurt, applesauce, etc. or make Chia pudding.
- Use seeds: Hemp seeds, sunflower, pumpkin, sesame seeds, etc. Seeds can be sprinkled over steamed veggies, salad, oatmeal and more.
- Grow your own herbs, spices and vegetables, you can grow small pots of herbs in your kitchen, on your patio, or in your garden. You are more likely to use them if you have them around already.
- Use more whole grains: Quinoa, Buckwheat, Millet, etc. Get creative on how to use them; make sure to add spices! Use Quinoa to make Tabouli Salad, use Buckwheat to make a breakfast cereal, etc.
- If you choose to consume meat, look for ethically raised animals, and meat without Nitrates.
